Working together.
Alongside the open work on this site, Rhobic takes on a small number of engineering projects across hardware, firmware, and the links between them. The blog, theFOC series and the MMC repositoryshow how that work is done: measured on hardware, with the data kept.
Hardware design
Schematic capture and PCB layout for mixed-signal and power boards: MCU and sensor design, motor and power stages, connectors and harnessing, and design-for-test.
Embedded systems
Bare-metal and RTOS firmware in Rust or C on Cortex-M and similar parts: drivers, peripheral setup, bootloaders, parameter storage, and host-side tooling.
Networking and communication
Device and machine links: CAN, RS-485, SPI, I²C, UART and Ethernet, protocol design and framing, and bridging sensor data to host compute such as Holoscan.
Motor control
FOC current and speed loops, sensorless observers and startup, six-step commutation, hall and encoder position loops, and motor identification and auto-tuning.
Power electronics
Gate drive and bootstrap, current sensing, converter stages, DC-link capacitance and input-filter stability, dead time, and thermal margins — as design or review.
Bring-up and validation
First power-on through a working system: protection paths, simulation-backed test suites, test rigs, and automation to capture and compare runs on the bench.

A few lines on the system and where it's stuck is enough to start. Replies come from hello@rhobic.com, usually within a few working days.
